Matthias Seling (* 1969 in Austria ) is an Austrian cabaret artist and comedian.

biography

1987–1988 he was a founding member of the theater group “Theater in der Dunkelkammer” at the Wittelsbacher Gymnasium in Munich , where he took on the role of Beckmann in “Outside in front of the door”. In 1989 he won the Penny Lane X-Mas Poetry Slam in Boulder Colorado at the u. a. Allen Ginsberg was on the jury. Matthias' interest in comedy and theater continued and so he wrote the text, directed and played various roles in the four-act comedy "Der Zivilisierungs I-IV", 1992. In the same year the band "Jeep Beat Orchestra" (Comedy + Music) with which he released the LP "Treffpunkt der Modern Jugend" in 1995. After completing his master's degree in literary history and philosophy in 1999, the thoroughbred rock 'n' roller made his first feature film Saturday has 90 minutes .

In 2000 Matthias moved to Cologne to establish himself in stand-up comedy. Matthias Seling was nominated for the Prix ​​Pantheon and Das Schwarze Schaf (cabaret award ) in 2008.
