Culture and associations

Boulder with coat of arms in the center of Bahnsen

Bahnsen has a lively village life; A village festival has established itself, which takes place every year in the summer months and is organized by the Bahnsen volunteer fire brigade and the women of the village. In addition, the farmers' bill takes place at the beginning of the year, which ends with food and dancing in the evening. At Pentecost, the bachelors in the village put a birch tree in front of their bedroom window for the young women who are still unmarried but have already been confirmed and are provided with drinks by them. Furthermore, there is the traditional Christmas party of the village community and the celebration of the setting up of the Christmas tree on the weekend before the first Advent. At this celebration, a large decorated Christmas tree in the center of the village is lit up for the first time - with people singing Christmas carols.
