Barnsen is a district of the Gerdau municipality in the Suderburg municipality in the Uelzen district . This is in the northeast of Lower Saxony .
The place is northeast of the core area of Gerdau and west of the core area of Uelzen .
The Gerdau , the 30 km long left or western source river of the Ilmenau, flows south of the village . Further southwest extends the 398 ha large nature reserve Mönchbruch .
