The Mönchsbruch is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon communities of Gerdau and Eimke in the combined community of Suderburg in the district of Uelzen .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 284 is 398  hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Ilmenau with tributaries".

The nature reserve is located west of Uelzen between Gerdau and Eimke. It places part of the Häsebach with its valley area under protection until shortly before the confluence with the Gerdau , a source river of the Ilmenau , and the Kolkbach with its lowland area and some tributaries.

The streams are largely natural. The Häsebach is mostly accompanied by permanent grassland . The lowland of the Kolkbach is characterized by extensive floodplain and swamp forests . In between there is grassland and a few fields . Transitions to mixed deciduous forests can be found at the edges of the lowland and the valley edges . Furthermore, reedbeds , Rieder , Hochstaudenfluren and swamps to find.

In the nature reserve u. a. Otter , brook lamprey , bullhead and green maidenhead .

The area has been a nature reserve since April 3, 2008. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Uelzen.
