The Maschbruch is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Wriedel , Hanstedt and Schwienau in the integrated municipality of Bevensen-Ebstorf in the Uelzen district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 210 is 240  hectares in size. The 6.6 hectare natural forest reserve of the same name, designated in 1994, is part of the nature reserve.

The nature reserve is located southwest of Ebstorf and southeast of Wriedel in a depression in the "Hohe Heide" natural area , which is surrounded by boulder sands at a higher level . The locations of the nature reserve are strongly influenced by backwater. They are predominantly found in swamp forests , but u. a. Also oak and hornbeam - and Drahtschmielen-Buchwald coined.

In the north of the nature reserve there are isolated grassland areas and a wild field within the forest area.

The Uelzen – Langwedel railway runs roughly in the middle of the nature reserve. As in the north of the area, there is a path along the railway line that can be used outside the breeding and setting season from the beginning of July to the end of February.

The area is drained via a ditch to the Schwienau , a tributary of the Gerdau .

The area has been a nature reserve since March 2, 1994. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Uelzen.
