Dieksbeck is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony community of Bienenbüttel in the district of Uelzen and in the community of Wendisch Evern in the joint municipality of Ostheide and the community of Deutsch Evern in the joint community of Ilmenau in the district of Lüneburg .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 265 is approximately 174 hectares . Of this, 125.6 hectares are in the Uelzen district and 48.4 hectares in the Lüneburg district. The part of the nature reserve is part of the FFH area "Ilmenau with tributaries". In the west it borders on the nature reserve " Lüneburg Ilmenau lowlands with zoo ". The area has been a nature reserve since May 2, 2004. The responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Uelzen and Lüneburg.
The nature reserve lies between Deutsch Evern and Bienenbüttel. The eastern part of the nature reserve lies entirely within the area of the Wendisch-Evern training area. It represents the valley area of Dieksbaches and part of the adjacent Geest hang under protection of quelligen of swamp forests with numerous Vermoorungen is embossed. The Dieksbach is dammed into ponds in several places . The geest slopes are mostly made up of pine forests . In the pine forests there are isolated black oaks that are reminiscent of their former use as heather . In the area of Ilmenau are predominantly lowland natural acidophilous oak mixed forests remained. Within the on-site training area, the nature reserve borders partly directly on heather and grassland areas in the north .
The protection is intended to preserve the area and develop it close to nature. These include u. a. the decussing of the bog areas, the retention of water in drained areas and the promotion of local tree species. The continuity of the Dieksbach is to be restored in the long term, with the remains of the dam being preserved as part of the Lüneburg Landwehr . There are historical cart paths in several places, which means that the area is also of cultural and historical significance.
In the west, the Hanover – Hamburg railway line crosses the nature reserve.
