The Lünsholz is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon communities of Südheide in the district of Celle and Suderburg in the district of Uelzen .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 314 is about 170  hectares . About 2.1 hectares of this are in the Uelzen district. The area is almost congruent with the 171.77 hectare FFH area of the same name and is located in the EU bird sanctuary "Südheide and Aschauteiche bei Eschede". The nature reserve is bordered to the south by the conservation area "Südheide in the district of Celle" (LSG CE 025). To the northwest and in the area of the district of Uelzen it borders on the landscape protection area "Blue Mountains with Hardautal" (LSG UE 013). The nature reserve has been under protection since February 1, 2018. The responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Celle and Uelzen.

The nature reserve is located between Uelzen and Celle east of the village of Unterlüß in the Südheide Nature Park . It protects a cinderella beech forest that is stagnant on the nutrient-poor sand of the Lüßmoränen in the Hohe Heide . Acid mixed oak forest with English oak can also be found in the northeast of the protected area . Only small areas of coniferous wood grow in the nature reserve . The proportion of coniferous trees that are not suitable for the location is to be reduced and converted into naturally occurring forest communities in the long term.

The forests in the protected area are part of the Lüßwald . They have a high proportion of old and dead wood . A part of the forest area with partly very old beech and sessile oak was designated as a natural forest "Lüßberg" in 1974 and expanded in 1996 to 29.1 hectares.

The nature reserve is a habitat and a. various birds , bats and deadwood beetles. The black stork is named as a value-determining species for which the nature reserve represents a potential breeding habitat. Other bird species that determine their value are the rough owl and black woodpecker . The nature reserve is a potential habitat for the stag beetle . It could not be detected in a beetle mapping carried out in 2015 in the FFH area.

By the nature reserve several run forestry and farm roads .
