The Henneckenmoor near Scheuen is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Celle in the district of Celle .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 324 is around 94.5 hectares in size. It includes the roughly 36 hectare FFH area of the same name . The area has been under nature protection since June 22, 2018. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Celle.
The nature reserve is located northeast of Celle. It protects an approximately 1.7 km long section of the moored valley low of the Vorwerker Bach with its source area and adjacent wooded areas in a geest area . In the lowland of the brook there are several ponds that were created for fish farming. The ponds are surrounded by wood and silting zones of different widths with reeds , reeds and birch forests. Wood-free moors are pronounced above the ponds, which are adjoined by bog forests . Parts of the area are occupied by moist heather with a high proportion of bell heather . The forests adjacent to the lowland serve as a buffer zone and to secure the water balance. The forests in the nature reserve have a high proportion of dead wood .
The bogs and ponds are the habitat of various dragonflies , including the high moor mosaic maiden and the little blue arrow . Furthermore, the area accommodates various reptiles and amphibians , including adder , Ringelnatter , Schlingnatter , Waldeidechse and Moorfrosch . The area is a breeding ground and feeding habitat for the crane .
The area is home to various moor-typical plants, including peat moss , round-leaved and medium sundew , bog lily , gentian , white beaked reed , cranberry and rosemary heather . In the ponds settle u. a. Shiny and white water lily , small and common water hose , knotweed spawn, and comb fern .
In order to keep the moors open, maintenance measures such as decuss removal are sometimes necessary.
The area is crossed by several paths that can be entered. It is mostly limited by farm roads. In the south-west there are agricultural areas and other forests, in which small areas of agricultural areas are embedded.
