The Hoppenriethe is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Eschede in the district of Celle .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 150 is 21 hectares in size. For the most part, it is part of the FFH area "Lutter, Lachte, Aschau (with some tributaries)". The area has been a nature reserve since March 2, 1987. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Celle .
The nature reserve is located southwest of Eschede between Habighorst and the B 191 . It represents a residual heath with juniper stocks and a Birkenbruch forest under protection. The quarry forest is interspersed with some spruce trees and turns into a pure spruce forest as the terrain rises. Individual spruces, oaks , pines and buckthorn trees also grow in the juniper heather , which have to be pushed back by decussing measures to protect the heather . As a further maintenance measure, the plague stabbing is carried out.
