The Schweinbruch is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Celle and in the municipality of Lachendorf in the Lachendorf municipality in the district of Celle .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 214 is 610  hectares . Of this, 537.5 hectares are in the city of Celle and 72.5 hectares in the district of Celle. A small part of the nature reserve is part of the FFH area “Lutter, Lachte, Aschau (with some tributaries)”. In the south it borders on the “ Lachte ” nature reserve . The area has been a nature reserve since November 16, 1995. Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the city and the district of Celle.

The nature reserve is located in the east of Celle, east of the Celle districts of Garßen , Bostel and Altenhagen . It is of fen dominated floors, focusing on sand and gravel substrate with high pending groundwater at the edge of the floodplain of the Laughed have formed. The landscape in the "Schweinbruch" is richly structured. In addition to numerous grassland areas criss-crossed by hedges , there are forests , rows of trees and individual trees. In the west of the nature reserve, the forests are mainly formed by alder forests. In the east there is a forest area with a high proportion of old wood . The grassland areas are being developed into extensively used wet grassland, especially wet meadows . In addition, reeds and swamps should be preserved and promoted and the forests should be able to develop into local forests. Some areas are privately owned and are cultivated as arable land .

A small tree frog population lives in the nature reserve , which is to be strengthened by the creation of small bodies of water. The area is also important for the black stork and crane , both of which breed here.

Through the protected area of the Altenhägener channel, the earlier the irrigation and drainage extending meadows served and by a weir was connected to the south extending Lachte. It is also traversed by two streams, the Haberlandbach and the Alvernschen Bach, both of which flow into the Altenhägen Canal. There are also numerous trenches . In the southeast the nature reserve is bounded by the Gockenholzer Canal. The nature reserve is crossed by the Celle – Wittingen small railway between Celle and Lachendorf.
