Ida Ljungqvist (born September 27, 1981 in Tanzania ) is a Tanzanian - Swedish model . It was the Playboy - Playmate of March 2008 and 2009 Playmate of the Year. She is the first African born and the second Swedish model to be voted Playmate of the Year.

Life

Ljungqvist was born in Tanzania to a Tanzanian mother and a Swedish father. She was discovered by Sara Jean Underwood in a bebe store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills . Ljungqvist traveled a lot because of her father's work for UNICEF . She speaks English, Swedish and Swahili . Ljungqvist has a degree in fashion design and marketing. In December 2007, Ljungqvist married Joshua R. Lang. In September 2008, Lang filed for divorce. Ljungqvist is said to have been in a relationship with the American model Kristina Shannon since 2012 .

Ljungqvist co-hosted the 2009 Playboy New Years Eve Party in Miami , along with other Playmates . Since being named Playmate of the Year, Ljungqvist has worked with Empowerment Works, a non-profit organization. Her work includes organizing awareness and fundraising.
