Nörl, who competes for DJK-SV Adlkofen, took part in the European Cup for the first time in Bad Gastein in January 2009 and finished in 47th place. He won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2009 in Szczyrk . He made his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in January 2010 in Bad Gastein, which he finished in 66th place. At the Junior World Championships he came in 36th place in 2009 , fifth in 2011 , 13th in 2012 and ninth in 2013 . In the 2011/12 European Cup season he achieved seven top ten finishes, including second place in Kongsberg , third place in the overall snowboard cross ranking. In the 2014/15 season he came in fifth place in Veysonnaz in the World Cup for the first time under the top ten and at the end of the season finished tenth in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , he came in 38th place. In the 2016/17 season he achieved four results in the top ten in the European Cup, including third place and second place in Colere, eighth place in the overall snowboard cross ranking. At the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he finished 24th. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished eighth in snowboard cross.
In the 2018/19 season, Nörl won his first World Cup victory in Cervinia and also took third place there. At the end of the season he reached third place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. The FIS Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City , he went to the 28th place.
Nörl has taken part in 49 World Cup races so far and has been placed in the top ten ten times. (Status: end of season 2019/20)
