Veysonnaz above the Rhone Valley

Veysonnaz is a political municipality and a civil parish in the district of Sion in the canton of Valais in Switzerland .


The community is located in the Rhône Valley on the southern slope, about 15 km south of the canton capital Sion at about 1200  m above sea level. M. to 1400  u m. M. Your western part lies on the slope of Printze -Tales and borders here the municipality of Nendaz .

Today Veysonnaz is known as a holiday resort in the 4 Vallées ski area . The ski world cup races for women and men in the downhill , super-G and slalom disciplines were repeated on the Piste de l'Ours .

A wide network of hiking trails is marked, which also leads along Bisses (historical irrigation ditches) when there is no snow . The two most important are the Bisse de Vex and the Bisse de Salins .
