The Dümpel an der Landwehr is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony city of Lüneburg in the Lüneburg district .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 174 is 20 hectares in size. It is located in the northwest of Lüneburg between Bardowick and Vögelsen and borders on part of the Lüneburg Landwehr , which borders the nature reserve to the north and west.
The "Dümpel an der Landwehr" is a wetland area that was created by the walling of the Landwehrbach. Some of the areas in the nature reserve are used for agriculture. The unused areas are characterized by tall herbaceous vegetation , sedges and reeds, as well as bushes.
The area has been a nature reserve since June 16, 1989. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Lüneburg.
