Life

Billy was the twins' more active actor: he made films until 1949 and had been in front of the camera before 1937, for example with The White Angel , while Bobby ended his acting career soon after the beggar boy film. Billy died at his Illinois home in September 2006; he had been married for over 53 years and had one son. His twin brother, Bobby, died 13 months later in a California retirement home; he had been married since 1971 and his marriage remained childless.
