The Wall Street ( Estonian Müürivahe tänav ) is a street in the Estonian capital Tallinn ( German  Reval ).

course

It runs on the east side of the Reval old town on the city side of the Reval city fortifications . It begins in the north on Münkenstrasse (Estonian: Munga ) and then leads south along the city wall. The Katharinengang ( Katarinna käik ) flows in from the west . In the further course it crosses the Lehmstraße ( Viru ), the Kleine Karristraße ( Väike-Karja ), the Große Karristraße ( Suur-Karja ) and finally to the Ritterstraße ( Rüütli ).

History and buildings

The name of the Mauerstraße refers to its course along the city wall of Reval.

In the northern part of the street is the St. Catherine's Monastery and the tower behind the monastery ( Munkadetagune torn ). The Hellemann Tower ( Hellemani torn ) is located a little to the south of this . The modern building of the De La Gardie department store is located at the intersection with Lehmstraße .

In the northern part there is a year-round wool market.
