Maura Jo Haponski (* 27. August 1957 in Killeen , Texas ) is a former American luger .
Haponski became national junior luge champion in 1973 and 1974. In the seniors, she was runner-up in both 1974 and 1975 at the US national championships. The following year she took part in the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . She finished the four runs in 25th place.
After her athletic career, Haponski completed a degree at Yale University in New Haven (Connecticut) , which she graduated in 1978. She then worked as a vice president for various commercial banks in California . She later founded his own company in the field of marketing and worked for the public service broadcasting in San Diego and as a consultant in this area.
