Maurice Ponga
Maurice Ponga (born June 5, 1947 in Kouaoua , New Caledonia ) is a French politician from Les Républicains .
Life
From 1995 to 2009 Ponga was a member of the Parliament of New Caledonia . In Harold Martin's government , he was Minister for Youth and Sports in New Caledonia. Ponga has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 . Ponga is opposed to the independence movement in New Caledonia, which wants to break away from France.
