Sun Caged is a Dutch progressive metal band from Sittard that was formed in 1999.

history

The band was formed around spring 1999. The band was initially only intended as a studio project, but this changed when the band Lemur Voice , band of guitarist Marcel Coenen, disbanded in 2000. By 2002 several demos were released, whereby the band reached a contract with the Finnish label Lion Music . For the publication in Japan it was decided to use Marquee / Avalon. The album was mixed by Arjen Lucassen . The recordings took place in early 2003, and the release followed on October 22nd. This was followed by appearances together with Vanden Plas and Queensrÿche . The second album Artemisia followed in March 2007 . In 2011 the third album called The Lotus Effect was released.

style

The band plays progressive metal, which with music by Symphony X is compared. The clear singing is particularly characteristic.
