Lemur Voice was a Dutch progressive metal band from Sittard , founded in 1993 under the name Aura and disbanded in 2000. The band played in their career together with artists such as Iron Maiden , Joe Satriani , Dio and Yngwie Malmsteen and performed at festivals such as ProgPower Europe .

history

The band was founded in 1993 under the name Aura. Together they recorded a first demo called And the Question Is ... Does the Shade Fill It Self With the Emptyness of Light in 1995, before changing its name to Lemur Voice a short time later. In 1996 the band released their debut album Insights , which was produced by Oscar Holleman . The album was released in the US , Japan and Europe through Magna Carta Records . The band was the first non-American group to release an album on this label. Due to the success of the album, the band reached a contract with Telstar Records in 1998 . The band recorded together with producer Ron Lieberton the next album called Divided in the recording studio of Telstar Records. The album also featured a cover version of Michael Jackson's Beat It . The album was released in 1999 before the band split up in 2000.

The band plays classic, technically demanding progressive metal, the music being comparable to the works of Dream Theater .
