Mauricio Affonso , full name Mauricio Affonso Prieto , (born January 26, 1992 in Melo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Offensive player Affonso has been in the squad of Uruguayan first division team Racing Club de Montevideo since at least the 2012/13 season . That season he played a game (no goal) in the Primera División . In the following season 2013/14 he played in 13 first division games and scored two goals. In the 2014/15 season he was used 26 times (twelve goals) in the top Uruguayan league. He then moved to Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia in early July 2015 . There he completed 13 league games and scored three goals. He was also used in three matches (one goal) in the Crown Prince's Cup. In early February 2016, after returning to Uruguay, he joined the Club Atlético Peñarol and signed a one-year contract. In the 2016 Clausura he was used in the "Aurinegros" in seven first division games (one goal) and three games (no goal) of the 2016 Copa Libertadores . He won the national championship title with the team. He left the club in mid-August 2016 and began a renewed engagement with the Racing Club as a loan player, for which he played nine league games (four goals) in the 2016 season. He returned to Peñarol in early January 2017. After eleven first division appearances (four goals) and four completed games (two goals) in the Copa Libertadores 2017 , he joined the Argentine club Atlético Tucumán in early August 2017 .
