The Club Atlético Tucumán , usually just called Atlético Tucumán , is an Argentine sports club from San Miguel de Tucumán .
In addition to the famous football division , the first team of which has played in the Primera División since 2016 , the club has hockey , swimming and tennis divisions .
history
The club was founded in 1902 as one of the first sports clubs in northern Argentina and initially dedicated itself to football, with other sports following over the years. The nickname Decano ( "Dean" ), which particularly refers to the fans of the club, is attributed to the old age of the club.
The club has played in white and light blue vertically striped jerseys since 1903 and is considered the first club in Argentina to use these dress colors.
Football department
The football team initially played in the regional league of the Tucumán Province, in which he was able to win the championship a total of 40 times. 1973 she succeeded for the first time the qualification for the national cup competition Torneo Nacional , further participations 1974-1976, 1978-1981 and 1984 followed.
