Mauricio Kagel Music Prize
The Maurizio Kagel Music Prize is awarded by the Kunststiftung NRW . It honors internationally recognized artists who deal with artistic experimentation, interdisciplinary concepts and new strategies for the presentation and reception of contemporary art in their work in the sense of Mauricio Kagel . It honors experiments at the interfaces between music, image and performance . The prize is endowed with fifty thousand euros. It is awarded every two years. In addition to thirty thousand euros, which the prize-winner receives directly, another twenty thousand euros of the prize money are linked to the condition that the money be used for the development of an artistic project in North Rhine-Westphalia.
