Mavroudi Arachovis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The red grape variety Mavroudi Arachovis ( Greek Μαυρούδι Αράχωβας ) is native to the Boeotia region and the Fokida prefecture . In a study by Bulgarian scientists, a presumed direct relationship between the Mavroudi Arachovis grape variety and the Bulgarian Mawrud and the Mavro native to Cyprus could not be confirmed.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is hairy white and woolly. The young leaves are only slightly hairy and almost whitish on the underside of the leaf.
  • The leaves are five-lobed and indented to a medium depth. The stalk bay is closed like a lyre. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth have a medium distance in comparison to the grape varieties. The leaf surface (also called blade) is blistered and rough.
  • The cylindrical grape is medium-sized and has dense berries. The rounded berries are also medium-sized and black and blue in color.
