Max Berbig

Max Berbig , completely Maximilian Arnold Berbig, (born November 16, 1856 in Großkundorf ; † August 24, 1926 in Gotha ) was a German teacher and local history researcher.

Life

Max Berbig was the son of a teacher and attended the teachers 'seminar in Gotha from 1873 to 1876 , where he passed his school leaving examination and then became a teacher at the higher boys' school in Gotha. From 1888 until his retirement on March 31, 1923 he was a teacher at the teachers' college in Gotha.

He began early on to deal with the history and local history of Gotha and the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha , became a member of the Association for Gotha History and Antiquity Research , and published numerous works in this field.

He was married to (Anna Adeline) Therese, geb. Weissenborn (1896-1940). Her son Clemens Berbig (1849–1921) became a high school teacher.
