Max Emiliano Nowry

Max Emiliano Nowry (born March 16, 1990 in Wheeling , Illinois ) is an American wrestler . He became the Pan-American bantamweight champion in the Greco-Roman style in 2013 .

Career

Max Nowry began wrestling as a teenager in 1996. Like all American boys, he started out with the free style, but switched to the Greco-Roman style over the course of his career. After high school he moved to Northern Michigan College and, after his first major successes, became a member of the New York Athletic Club . His coaches were or are Ike Andersson, Iwan Iwanow and Dennis Hall . Today he often trains at the US Wrestling Association's performance center in Colorado Springs . With a height of 1.57 meters, he wrestles in the lightest weight class, the bantam weight (up to 55 kg body weight).

In 2006, 2007 and 2008 he was American Junior Champion. Also US student champion in 2010 and 2012. He has not yet been able to become the US senior champion. In 2012 he was in the final of the Olympic Trials, in which he was defeated by Spenser Thomas Mango .

His international career began at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ankara. He took 5th place there in the weight class up to 50 kg. He took the same place at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Budapest. In 2012 he won the gold medal at the University World Championships in Kuortane / Finland in bantamweight, ahead of Dimitri Brychak, Ukraine and Iwan Blattsew, Russia. He finally celebrated another championship success in 2013 at the Pan-American Championship in Panama City. He won there in bantamweight before Cristian Novas Feliz, Dominican Republic, Jairo Luis Medina, Venezuela and Ali Soto Macias, Mexico.
