Maxim Nikolajewitsch Sokownin ( Russian Максим Николаевич Соковнин ; born September 13, 1975 ) is a former Russian biathlete .

Maxim Sokownin only had a bigger commitment on an international level than when he took part in the first-time roller ski competitions at the 2006 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Ufa . In the sprint he was ninth, in the pursuit race he was able to improve significantly despite four shooting errors and won the bronze medal behind his compatriot Maxim Tschudow and the Pole Krzysztof Pływaczyk .
