Maximilian Freiherr von Bevern (* in the 17th century; † in the 17th century) was canon in Münster

Life

Origin and family

Maximilian von Bevern came from the Westphalian noble family von Bevern , who came from the ministerial nobility and had its headquarters in Ostbevern and Westbevern in the Münsterland . The West Bevern line died out in the male line in the 14th century , while the East Bevern branch continued and was still one of the most important noble families in Westphalia in the 17th century. He was the son of Baron Johann Gottfried von Bevern zu Devesburg and Lette (1629–1665, treasurer of the Electorate of Cologne and Councilor of the High Prince-Münster) and his wife Maria Katharina Odilia de Wendt zu Holtfeld . His brother Sigismund was married to Anna Wilhelmina von und zu Landsberg and was court marshal, treasurer and bailiff of Bergheim and Landsberg. Ernst , his other brother, was a canon in Munster.

Act

On March 10, 1685, Maximilian submitted a papal promise to the cathedral priest of Count Ferdinand Maximilian of East Friesland, who had renounced. On April 2nd he took possession of the benefice and was sworn to the families of Bevern, Wendt and von dem Berge . Maximilian completed his studies in Paris and presented his diploma from the University of Paris in 1689. In 1694 Maximilian renounced in favor of his brother Ernst. Pope Innocent XII. accepted this waiver on August 11, 1694.
