Maximilian von Gagern (diplomat)
Maximilian Ludwig Freiherr von Gagern (born October 9, 1844 in Monsheim , † January 3, 1911 in Berlin ) was the Hessian minister and envoy in Berlin and authorized representative to the Federal Council.
Life
Gagern studied from 1862 at the University of Göttingen and became a member of the Corps Saxonia . He embarked on a career as a Hessian civil servant and was embassy attaché in Vienna and Paris and from 1871 to 1881 Ministerial Secretary and Councilor in the Ministry of the Interior in Darmstadt. Further stations were: District Councilor in Worms , Provincial Director of Upper Hesse in Gießen and Provincial Director of Rheinhessen in Mainz. In 1908 he was appointed Hessian Minister and Envoy in Berlin and at the same time served as a representative to the Federal Council .
