Maxwell Hill

The Maxwell Hill is a 212  m high hill on McDonald Iceland in the southern Indian Ocean . It is the highest point on the island and rises in the center of the southern part of the island.

The hill is named after Gordon Maxwell, captain of the ship MV Cape Pillar during a 1980 campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions in this area, during which a station for satellite-based position determination using the Doppler effect was set up on one shoulder of the hill .
