May Pen is a city in the interior of Jamaica . It is the capital of Clarendon Parish . In the 1991 census, 45,903 inhabitants were registered.
May Pen is a traffic junction at the intersection of two major highways. Until public rail traffic was discontinued, a branch line of the Kingston-Montego Bay route branched off into the southern growing area. The city's landmark is a stone bell tower, which was built after the end of the Second World War and is based on the old colonial architecture.
