May Wallas (born October 6, 1898 in London , † November 24, 1972 ibid) was a British Romance studies and literary scholar.

Life

May Graham Wallas was the daughter of the political scientist Graham Wallas (1858-1932). She studied at Newnham College, University of Cambridge . In 1926 she received her doctorate from the University of London with the thesis Luc de Clapiers, Marquis de Vauvenargues (Cambridge 1928). From 1937 to 1945 she was Lecturer in French at the London School of Economics , from 1945 to 1962 University Lecturer in French at the University of Cambridge and Director of Studies in Modern Languages ​​at Newnham College. She did a great job publishing her father's work.
