Mayadome was a Swedish progressive metal band from Uppsala that was formed in 1995 and broke up in 2001.

history

The band was formed in 1995. In October 1996 the debut album Paranormal Activity was released via Shrapnel Records . The group consisted of guitarist Fredrik Kjörling, bassist Erik Grandin, drummer Teddy Möller, keyboardist Jonas Hägg and singer Björn Holmquist. The second album, Near Life Experience , was released on Siegen Records in April 2000. Sebastian Okupski replaced keyboardist Hägg on keyboards and Bassel Elharbiti could be heard as the new singer. In November 2001, the band broke up due to disputes between the band members. After the dissolution, Kjörling, Grandin and Möller founded the band Loch Vostok with drummer Alvaro Romero Torres and guitarist and bassist Niklas Kupper .

style

The band plays classic progressive metal and is compared to dream theater . The guitar work is compared to Van Halen , while the lyrics are compared to Queensrÿche .
