Loch Vostok is a Swedish progressive metal band from Uppsala that was formed in 2000.
history
The band emerged from the break-up of the Mayadome band . When it was founded, it consisted of drummer Alvaro Svanerö, bassist Erik Grandin, keyboardist Sebastian "Zeb" Okupski, guitarist Niklas Kupper and singer Teddy Möller. Together they recorded a few pieces. A few months later bassist Grandin left the band and was replaced by Tomas "Tym" Jonsson. With this line-up they recorded their debut album Dark Logic under the direction of Daniel Bergstrand .
Several appearances in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands followed . Then keyboardist Okupski left the band and was replaced by Andreas Lindahl. As a result, work began on the next album called Destruction Time Again . The recordings took place under the direction of Carl Vikman . Guest musician Ron Jarzombek (including Watchtower ) contributed a guitar solo. The album was released in 2005 through Escapi Music . Shortly after the recordings, Lindahl left the band and was replaced by Fredrik Klingwall. This was followed by work on the album Reveal No Secrets . The band also held a tour with King Diamond . After that, the band continued to write new material and toured with Pyramaze . After the tour, the band recorded the album Reveal No Secrets . The album was released in 2009 through Silverwolf Productions . After the publication, there were hardly any concerts, as Teddy Möller joined his side project FKÜ. dedicated. During this time, Kupper and Svanerö separated from the band. Drummer Lawrence "Lalle" Dinamarca and guitarist Manuel "Mano" Lewys joined the band as a replacement.
Then the recordings for the album Dystopium began . The band also did a tour with Therion and Leprous . Bassist Jonsson had to leave the band due to back problems and was replaced by Jimmy Mattsson. Shortly after the tour, guitarist Lewys left the band and was replaced by Kupper, who returned to the band.
The band recorded a video for the song Sacred Structure under the direction of Martin Gustafsson and reached a contract with Vicisolum Productions . Dystopium was released through the label in 2011.
