Pyramaze is a Danish - American Progressive - power metal - band .
history
Pyramaze was founded in 2001 by guitarist Michael Kammeyer. Drummer Morten Sørensen from ( Wuthering Heights ) and bassist Niels Kvist were accepted into the band . The American keyboardist Jonah Weingarten, whom Kammeyer had met over the Internet, joined them. The American singer Lance King (former member of Balance of Power) became lead singer.
The band's first live show was on April 23, 2004 in Minneapolis , Minnesota . She released her debut album, Melancholy Beast , in May 2004 and then went on tour for the summer. During this time the Danish guitarist Toke Skjønnemand joined the band.
In February 2006, the band released their second album Legend of the Bone Carver , a concept album . On September 15, 2006, the band played at the ProgPower USA VII Festival in Atlanta , Georgia . Shortly thereafter, on November 10, 2006, the band members announced that the then singer Lance King had left the band.
On April 14th 2007 the then former (and now returned) singer of Iced Earth , Matthew Barlow , became the new singer and celebrated his comeback in the metal scene. On December 11, 2007, Iced Earth guitarist and band leader Jon Schaffer announced that Matt Barlow had returned to the band. He completed the recordings for the album Immortal and then left Pyramaze.
On March 13, 2008, Pyramaze released demos of two songs from Immortal , Year of the Phoenix and Caramon's Poem . The album was released on May 30, 2008.
On July 11, 2008, Pyramaze announced that former Tad Morose and active Bloodbound singer Urban Breed would be the new lead singer. His first activities with Pyramaze were the gigs on the Danish tour in November 2008 as support for Volbeat .
Her fourth studio album Disciples of the Sun was released in Europe on May 22nd, 2015 , with Terje Harøy as the new singer.
On April 28, 2017, the fifth studio album "Contingent" was released in Europe and North America.
