Blood Bound is a Swedish power metal - band , which in the summer of 2004 by guitarist Tomas Olsson and Fredrik Bergh keyboardist (StreetTalk) in Bollnäs was founded. The line-up was completed with the former Tad Morose singer Urban Breed (who sings with Serious Black today ) and drummer Oskar Belin.
history
In 2006 Bloodbound released their debut album Nosferatu , which features classic Melodic Power Metal influenced by bands like Iron Maiden and Helloween . During the upcoming tour, the line-up became unstable as Urban Breed left the band. Kristian Andrén (another former Tad Morose singer), who stepped in, didn't stay long either. With Henrik Olsson (guitar) and Pelle Åkerlind from Morgana Lefay (drums), two new members joined. The album Book of the Dead followed a year later , on which Michael Bormann from Jaded Heart can be heard, a new singer who gave Bloodbound a different, harder, vocal color. But then Bormann left Bloodbound again. A replacement was found in returnees Urban Breed. In 2009 the third album Tabula Rasa was released.
With the meanwhile third permanent singer, Patrik Johansson, the melodic sounding Unholy Cross was recorded and released in March 2011. In the course of the same year, the re-releases of Nosferatu and Book of the Dead were released via the current record company AFM Records for the record company's 15th anniversary with additional bonus material. In the following year the next studio album In the Name of Metal was released and another two years later the sixth album Stormborn .
In the meantime, Patrik Johansson recorded their debut album Armored IV Pain for Shadowquest . In 2016, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the band, the first live disc One Night of Blood was recorded , which includes recordings from the Masters of Rock Festival in the Czech Republic. The DVD also contains the last video clips from In the Name of Metal (in two versions) and Stormborn . At the end of 2016, drummer Pellé Äkerlind said goodbye to focus on Morgana Lefay and Trail of Murder. He can still be heard on the seventh album War of Dragons . Patrik Johansson took his wife's name after the marriage and is now called Patrik J. Selleby. War of Dragons was released on February 24, 2017, and the limited edition comes with a bonus CD that contains demo versions . Since Stormborn , Bloodbound has been inspired by its role model Sabaton ; the pieces have become more keyboard-heavy. Slight parallels to symphonic metal can be seen.
On the "Dragons & Witches" tour Bloodbound was accompanied by supporting acts such as Crystal Viper, Thobbe Englund and Rexoria. Thobbe Englund helped out on the guitar while different drummers were used in different shows.
In August 2017 Danjel Sjögren ( Twilight Force ) was announced as the new drummer. He had already accompanied the band on drums on tours and festivals in the past.
