Macedonian Cyrillic Fragment
The Macedonian Cyrillic fragment (Russian Македонский кириллический листок ) is a parchment sheet in Old Church Slavonic probably from the 11th century. It contains an excerpt from a treatise on translation, probably as a prologue to a theological text. It is probably a copy of a text by Constantine of Salonika , the founder of the liturgy in the Slavic language, from the 9th century. The language has similarities to the apostolar of Enina and the Sawa evangelist and may have been made in Preslaw . Only the letter ь was used for the sounds ъ and ь.
The sheet was probably found in what is now Macedonia in 1857 by the Russian linguist Alexander Hilferding . It is now in the library of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg , call number 24.4.16.
