Ignaz Peter Lüstner

Ignaz Peter Lüstner (born December 22, 1793 in Poischwitz , † January 30, 1873 in Breslau ) was a German violinist and conductor .

Life

In 1814 Lüstner moved to Breslau. From 1819 he was concertmaster of the court orchestra of Prince Heinrich zu Carolath-Beuthen . After its dissolution he became first violinist at the Königstädter Theater in Berlin in 1826 , but returned to Breslau after a year. There he founded his own music school for violin playing in 1844. Lüstner was one of the defining personalities of the musical life in Breslau.

Lüstner's five sons, Karl (1834–1906), Otto (1839–1889), Louis (1840–1918), George (1847–1887) and Richard (1854–1912) also became musicians.

Salomon Jadassohn and Julius Stern deserve special mention from his numerous students .
