The McWhinnie Peak is a mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Saint Johns Range it rises 3 km northeast of Mount Harker .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 by the American biologist Mary Alice McWhinnie (1922-1980), the 1962-1972 at several Antarctic cruises the icebreaker USNS Eltanin had participated and in the Antarctic winter 1974 on the McMurdo station worked .
