The Meall Ghaordaidh (also known as Meall Ghaordie ) is a 1039 meter high mountain in Scotland . Its Gaelic name probably means hill of the shoulder or hill of the arm . It is located northwest of Killin on the border between the Council Areas Perth and Kinross and Stirling in the extensive mountain landscape between Glen Lyon in the north and Glen Lochay in the south.

View from Creag at Tulabhain to the summit of Meall Ghaordaidh

From the south, the Meall Ghaordaidh is a little more conspicuous, characterized by broad grassy slopes, which does not stand out from its lower neighbors. To the north, on the other hand, the mountain ends in two parallel ridges that end in steep cliffs towering over Glen Lyon. Directly north of the summit, one of the two ridges runs out into the Creag Loaghain . To the east of this rises the wall of the Creag at Tulabhain , connected to the highest point by a wide ridge that runs first to the east and then to the north. The horseshoe-shaped valley of the Allt Loaghain , a mountain stream flowing into the River Lyon , opens up between the two rock faces . To the west lies another rock face, the Creagan at t-Sluic, on the north side of the Meall Ghaordaidh.

The Meall Ghaordaidh is usually climbed from the south. Here the ascent leads over the less prominent, grassy south-east shoulder of the mountain. The starting point is a small car park in Glen Lochay, shortly after the settlement of Duncroisk on the bridge over the Allt Dhuin Croisg .
