The Meandrinidae are a family of hard corals (Scleractinia). The family includes five genera with twelve species that live in the Caribbean . Two other species living in the tropical Pacific are traditionally placed in the family, but their assignment is no longer certain today. All recent genera of the Meandrinidae live in symbiosis with zooxanthellae and obtain most of the necessary nutrients from them. In addition, the extinct hard coral genera Aulosmilia , Diploctenium , Flabellosmilia , Glenarea , Nefophyllia , Pachygyra , Phragmosmilia , Phyllosmilia and Strotogyra are counted to the family.
