The medal “20. Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 " ( Russian Юбилейная медаль" Двадцать лет Победы в Великой Отечественной войне 1941-1945 гг. » ) Was an award of the former Soviet Union , which on May 7, 1965 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Victory was donated in one step in the Patriotic War against Hitler Germany . The medal was mainly awarded to all military and civilian persons who participated in the Soviet armed forces in the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The 32 mm by measuring gold medal of brass shows on her obverse center a man who in his right hand holds a mighty sword and left on his child. This symbolism is flanked by the years 1945 (left) and 1965 right. The lower edge of the medal is determined by two crossed laurel branches. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows a Soviet star in the middle in front of a radial background, resting in front of the Roman numerals XX . This symbolism is surrounded by the inscription: Двадцать лет Победы (above) and в Великой Отечественной войне 1941–1945 гг (Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945). The medal was worn on the left side of the chest of the borrower on a pentagonal red clasp, in the right half of which the color combination green-black-green was woven as a vertical central stripe. The interim clasp is of the same quality. 16,399,550 medals were awarded.
