The medal “50. Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 " ( Russian Юбилейная медаль" 50 лет Победы в Великой Отечественной войне 1941-1945 гг. » ) Is a joint award of Russia , Kazakhstan , Armenia , Belarus and Ukraine , (d. E. The former Soviet Union ), which was donated in one step on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War against Hitler Germany . So the medal was z. Founded on July 7, 1993 in Russia, October 26, 1993 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in Belarus on March 14, 1995. On September 7, 2010 this medal lost the status of a Russian state award. The medal was mainly awarded to all military and civilian persons who participated in the Soviet armed forces in the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The obverse of the 32 mm diameter gold-plated medal shows the Kremlin with surrounding fireworks and a Soviet star underneath , which interrupts the years 1945 1995 . The reverse of the medal, however, shows the five-line inscription: 50 / лет / Победы / в Великой / Отечественной / войне / 1941–1945 гг. (50 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945) This lettering is enclosed in a semicircular container made of laurel branches. The medal is worn on the left chest of the borrower on a pentagonal red clasp. The left half of the ribbon is dominated by the color combination orange-black-orange-black-orange-black-orange. The interim clasp is of the same quality.
