Red Cross Medal (Monaco)

The medal of the Red Cross was on October 16, 1950 by decree by Prince Rainier III. Donated by Monaco to reward services to the Red Cross on a national and international level.

The round medal is awarded in three stages (gold - silver gold-plated , silver, bronze ) and shows the portrait of the donor turned to the right. The inscription RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO (Rainier III Prince of Monaco) runs around the head cutout . A red cross can be seen in the center of the back. Above the date 11 · 4 · 1950 and underneath two laurel branches that half enclose the cross. All around the inscription RECONNAISSANCE CROIX-ROUGE MONEGASQUE (recognition for the Monegasque Red Cross).

The award is worn on a red ribbon with a large white rhombus in the middle on the left side of the chest. A red cross can be seen in the middle of the rhombus.

The year of the award is marked with a clasp on the ribbon.
