Medal for outstanding achievements in agriculture and forestry in the German Democratic Republic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The medal for outstanding achievements in agriculture and forestry in the German Democratic Republic was a state award from the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The medal was donated on April 28, 1977 in one step. They were awarded for outstanding performance to workers and employees in the named industry in fulfilling and over-fulfilling the planned tasks, but also for many years of meritorious work in the named area. However, the maximum number of awards was limited to 200 carriers annually and divided. That means that the medal mentioned here had to share the highest number of awards with the medal for outstanding achievements in agricultural production cooperatives of the German Democratic Republic . The medal could only be awarded once to the same person.

Appearance and wearing style

The bronze medal with a diameter of 30 mm showed a tractor in the middle of its obverse in front of a forest, which was surrounded by the inscription: FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE (above) and IN DER LAND- UND FORSTWIRTSCHAFTG (below). The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows the large national coat of arms of the GDR. The medal was worn on the left upper side of the chest on a 25 × 14 mm wide green clasp in which two 1 mm wide yellow side stripes were woven vertically, which were 1.5 mm from the edge. The ribbon was thus identical to the medal for excellent performance in agricultural production cooperatives of the German Democratic Republic, which was due to the joint award number.
