Medal for excellent performance in agricultural production cooperatives of the German Democratic Republic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The medal for outstanding achievements in the agricultural production cooperatives of the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The medal was donated on April 28, 1977 in one step. They were awarded for outstanding achievements to members of agricultural production cooperatives in fulfilling and over-fulfilling the planned tasks, but also for many years of meritorious work in the area mentioned. However, the maximum number of awards was limited to 200 carriers annually and divided. That means that the medal mentioned here had to share the highest number of awards with the medal for outstanding achievements in agriculture and forestry in the German Democratic Republic . The medal could only be awarded once to the same person.

Appearance and wearing style

The bronze medal with a diameter of 30 mm showed an oversized ear in the middle of its obverse , which almost concealed a cow lying behind it. The two symbols are surrounded by the inscription: FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE (above) and IN LPG (below). The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows the large national coat of arms of the GDR. The medal was worn on the left upper side of the chest on a 25 × 14 mm wide green clasp in which two 1 mm wide yellow side stripes were woven vertically, which were 1.5 mm from the edge.
