The medal for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the armed forces of the Socialist Republic of Romania ( Romanian A XX-a aniversare a Zilei Armatei Republicii Socialiste România ) was a state award of the Socialist Republic of Romania . The foundation took place on October 25, 1964 by decree 642 of the Council of State ( Consiliul de stat ). The publication of the statutes was announced in the Romanian State Gazette ( Buletinul oficial ) No. 13. The medal, which was donated in a class, was awarded to military and civilians who had helped strengthen the army. The medal was also awarded to persons and veterans of the anti-fascist war Romania against Hitler Germany in World War II .

Appearance and wearing style

The medal has the shape of a ten-pointed star. The obverse of the gold-plated medal shows, within a laurel wreath, a Romanian soldier with a steel helmet on his head and a machine gun in his hand, which he carries in front of his chest. A waving flag can be seen in the background. The Roman numeral XX is stamped in the lower intersection of the laurel wreath . The reverse of the medal is smooth shows the three-line inscription: 1944 - 1964 / 25. / OCTOMBRIE .

The medal was worn on the left chest of the borrower on a 24 mm wide pentagonal clasp on a red ribbon. A white, blue and white central stripe is woven into the middle of the ribbon. The hem is kept in the national colors of Romania from the outside to the inside, red-yellow-blue.
