The Medea Monument is a monument in the Georgian port city of Batumi on Europa Square in the center of the old town.

The bronze statue of the Colchian princess Medea , based on the ancient model, stands on a slim base clad in white marble . This presents the golden fleece in the outstretched hand - a symbol of prosperity and happiness of the people.

The statue of Medea appears sublime due to the color contrast of the slender green-patinated virgin and the gold-plated elements of her hairstyle, the ram's skin and an ornamental grille at her feet. During the night, the monument and the surrounding house facades are illuminated in color by spotlights. The square is a meeting point for young people and tourists. In the vicinity of the monument are large public administration buildings, luxury hotels and the city clock tower.

The monument was inaugurated in July 2007 during a visit by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili . In this context, the Georgian opposition criticized the lack of connection between the Medea and Batumi, but especially the high construction costs for the monument, which they described as a luxurious prestige building.
