MediaNews
The MediaNews group was the fourth largest newspaper publisher in the United States by circulation . The Denver ( USA ) -based company belonged to the entrepreneur William Dean Singleton and published 53 daily newspapers with a total circulation of around 2.7 million copies. The group also included a CBS station in Anchorage, Alaska and radio stations in Texas .
The MediaNews Group took over several newspapers from the broken media company Knight Ridder in May 2006 with the support of the media company Hearst Corporation for the equivalent of 800 million euros .
In 2013 MediaNews Group and 21st Century Media merged to form Digital First Media .
