The Media Art Archive in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna collects electronic art and networks collections and turns art education into the artistic work of the new media .
The Media Art Archive provides comprehensive documentation of the development of electronic art from 1970 to today. The archive's tasks include archiving, describing and conveying art to the new media. The basis for processing and developing public access are the holdings of the art section of the Republic of Austria , the collection of basis wien , the collection of the art and discussion room depot, the collection of the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the video art collection of the State of Lower Austria .
The artistic and scientific management has been with Romana Scheffknecht since 2001 .
